Artificial Turf Installation Process

SA Landscaping is your Local Artificial Grass Installer
Skip the mowing and watering—get a pristine lawn that’s built to handle Texas sun, pets, and play. Our Turf Installation Team uses proven methods, premium materials, and pro-grade tools to deliver a natural look with proper drainage and a long lifespan.

Unlike shortcut crews who lay turf over old grass, we do it right. We suppress and remove vegetation, excavate and haul off, install and compact the base in lifts, add a fine leveling layer, set edging, address drainage, seam the turf correctly, add the right infill, power‑broom, roll, and walk you through care. Results you can count on.

Vegetation Suppression

We apply a targeted herbicide (conventional or organic upon request) 3–5 days before installation to stop existing grass and weeds from pushing through. Ask about our Eco-Friendly options!

❷ Removal & Site Clearing

We remove dead grass, weeds, and surface organics. Haul off debris. Lightly scrape the surface as needed to prep for base work.

❸ Base Prep (Depth As Needed)

Add compactable road base where required for stability and drainage. Compact in thin lifts to create a firm, even foundation without over‑digging.

➍ Fine Grading Layer

Spread a thin layer of decomposed granite or screenings. Screed and level to achieve a smooth, consistent surface that helps turf lay flat.

➎ Edging & Borders (As Needed)

Install steel, bender board, paver, or concrete edging where needed to lock turf edges, prevent lift, and create clean transitions to beds, walks, or patios.

➏ Drainage Setup

Set proper slope/crown so water flows away from structures and doesn’t pool. Add simple drains or tie‑ins only if site conditions require it.

➐ Turf Layout & Precision Trimming

Roll out turf and align the blade direction. Precisely trim around curves, trees, and hardscape for tight, professional fits with minimal gaps.

➑ Professional Seaming

Join rolls with premium seam tape and adhesive. Match grain and tension to create strong, nearly invisible seams that won’t split or telegraph.

➒ Securement & Infill Application

Fasten perimeter with 5–6 inch nails or staples at proper spacing. Brush in selected infill (silica, antimicrobial/pet, and/or cooling) based on use, pets, and sun exposure.

➓ Power‑Broom, Roll & Care Briefing

Power‑broom to lift fibers and settle infill, then roll for a smooth finish. Walk you through cleaning, brushing, odor control for pets, and simple ongoing maintenance.

Realistic Look: Fine grading, quality turf, and correct infill make the lawn look natural from day one.
Pet & Kid Friendly: Fast‑drain backings and antimicrobial infills help keep play areas cleaner and fresher.
